Up & Coming: Suckers

On June 8th (my birthday I might add) Brooklyn Indie Pop Rockers will be releasing Wild Smile, their debut full length. They've been getting plenty of attention opening for the endlessly buzzed about Local Natives on a recent national tour as they blend the oddities that made older Modest Mouse records so engaging, but with the pop sensibilities that made "Float On" so damn catchy. This is not to say that they're some kind of copy cat band, for they certainly have their own sound. Think a subversion of the things in music that made the 80s suck, but made the hits of the day sell so many copies. You've got meandering feel good piano and synth hooks, falsetto notes that would even make Vampire Weekend's frontman Ezra Koenig a little impressed, dancey drum beats, and electro samples... but all in a mixture that can be pulled off live without simply standing behind a macbook.

Check out the dangerously colorful artwork for Wild Smile, the track listing, and listen to or download the band's first single from the LP "Black Sheep" below:

01. Save Your Love For Me
02. Black Sheep
03. Before Your Birthday Ends
04. You Can Keep Me Runnin’ Around

06. Roman Candles
07. It Get Your Body Movin’
08. Martha
09. King of Snakes
10. 2 Eyes 2 C
11. Loose Change
